In the Spirit of Thanksgiving

Photobucket

So, everyone knows how much I love doing arts and crafts, so in the spirit of Thanksgiving, the boys and I have been super busy!

Toilet paper roll Pilgrims! Gagey was pretty interested in the project...Corbin called it dumb. I thought they turned out pretty cute though. There was only about a bottle of glue each used in making these things...boys don't know what "make little dots" means. :)

Okay...I know one day soon the boys are going to grow out of making handprint art, so I'm taking full advantage of it. This one is Corbin's. I used this project to try to explain what Thanksgiving is all about since I can't seem to find a book about it in the library...every one of them is checked out! I tried to explain to them that the pilgrims wanted to thank the indians for all their help by preparing a feast for them...don't think it registered as good as a book would have...but what can I do?

Poor little monkey magnet on the fridge has his work cut out this week (and next). The boys have been doing Thanksgiving activities at home and at school.

My lil' turkeys dressed up like indians!

Stay tuned...we should have a lot to post about in the coming days between daddy being on vacation, mommy being off of school, BFF Carson spending the night, and Thanksgiving of course!

This is getting DIFFICULT!

Let me explain the two pictures above. I brought my old camera to the mall today because I thought it's been a while since I had a new post on the blog...so I'll snap a couple cute pics of the boys. Well...the boys have gotten to the point where they HATE, LOATHE, DESPISE pictures. Bribery doesn't work, and telling them that Santa is watching them (seriously "Santa" was a couple feet right behind Corbin in the above picture) didn't work. It's really hard to do blog posts without decent pictures. It makes for a boring blog. Sorry friends and fam. I'm going to continue trying my hardest for decent shots...but can't make any promises. :)
FYI...our favorite photographer took family pics this weekend and as always...got FANTASTIC pics of the boys!! They will be sent to you via Christmas card soon hopefully!

Pretty day at the P-A-R-K

Headed over to Finch Park this morning, since it was so pretty outside!

Nicholsons go to Nascar!

Today we headed to Texas Motor Speedway for the NASCAR races! This was my first time (and the boys) to go and we had some AWESOME seats!! Notice the picture above...I brought my crappy camera today and I'm not even zooming in...we were THAT close!

Gagey loved his "ear puffs" and everything that flew in the sky! (helicopters, army jets)

Little guy in the upper left of the picture is Jeff Gordon. Little guy in the red...Carl Edwards. Yep...that close!

Boys in their "ear puffs" watching the cars go by

Mommy's favorite...JEFF GORDON!

Corbin's favorite...Juan Pablo Montoya

Daddy and Gage were rooting for Mark Martin...although when we were leaving Gage was crying uncontrollably and saying "I wanna watch Jeff Gordon win!"

Okay...this is a pic of the boy that NEVER...I repeat NEVER takes a nap...yet he fell asleep in the middle of a Nascar race...go figure.
P.S. Excuse the blog chaos...I'm trying to learn new things! It will be a work in progress for a while. :)

Sick boys!

About an hour after picking the boys up from school, I sat down to read them a new book we just got from the Scholastic Book Fair. (not really fair...just the order form, but I used to love the book fair!) Anyway, as we are reading I noticed that I was being heated on both sides. Gage had a temperature of 101 and Corbin's was right around 100. I didn't want to waste anytime in getting them medicine so I called the doctor and was right in within 10 minutes! (love my doctor) Got checked for H1N1 and strep...both came back negative. If the boys get much worse, I'll bring them back tomorrow. Doctor said it could either be just a virus or too early to detect the strep or flu. I am praying that they are fever free in the morning. Gage had a good day with a small fever, but Corbin was pretty icky all day. Keep my lil men in your thoughts...poor Corbin may have to miss his last soccer game. :(

Meet my Lil Bruisers!

Since this is the final week of being the coach of the Bruisers, I thought I would let everyone meet the little men on my soccer team.
#5: My FAVORITE Bruiser!!! Corbin and another little boy made the majority of the goals this season. (probably all but 5 goals) We are super proud of him!
Our last game is this Saturday, and although it's going to be sad, it's also going to be a relief! Coach Shawna took on way too much this semester between 5 classes and coaching 5 year olds! I'm ready for my Saturdays to be a little less busy!
I would also love to say that this was my one and only time of coaching, but when your 3 year old says "Mommy is going to be my soccer coach too!" , I have a feeling that it would be a lie!

Dear Doggies...

Dear Winnie, Jasper, & Jenkins,
Aunt Shawna seems to think the time has come to take a little break. Not forever...just a trial separation. You have truly been "baby's best friend" and you constantly entertain me, but I seem to forget at times that I am not a four-legged furry friend. I walk on 2 legs and can talk, although I do occassionaly like to sample your food. Although I'm not completely sure why my favorite aunt thinks this way...it might be better if I go and hang out with my cousins every now and then.
XOXOX,
Your best buddy, Lincoln

P.S. This is just a plea to get me to Aunt Shawna's house more often.
