Cool Beans!

People probably don't say "cool beans" anymore...but I thought I would share some things that I think are "cool beans!"

1. The boys' new haircuts. We headed over to the Kid's Salon in Allen for the first time since Aunt Sarah seems to like it...and they did an awesome job...and Corbin only complained for a few minutes about the "nasty hard stuff" in his hair. (I took this picture as we were headed to the bathroom to wash it out)

2. 2 more weeks left in the semester...which also means only 2 more weeks of ever taking a math class!!! Right now my average in one math is a B and the other is...not a B. Here is to hoping that the teacher finds it in her to at least pass me with a C (or education dept will make me retake!)

3. I'm taking my practice teacher certification exam this weekend. That really isn't "cool beans" but just being at the point that I need to take it is "cool beans". I already passed the PPR one, so this one is next!! I have to pass them to student teach...and once I pass them...I can take the REAL tests! Big-time COOL BEANS!

4. custoMOM is catching up on her many many many many orders!!! (which is perfect timing for finals!) I just finished one of my most favorite teacher signs I've ever done and can't wait to show everyone...tomorrow! :)

5. An info-mercial (sp?) has motivated me to attempt the P90X workout!! I'm hoping to start it this next week...but that all depends on finals and craft orders...hopefully I'll still be motivated in 2 weeks if not! ;)

6. I think this picture (below) is cool beans.

Until next time...

Big Birthday Weekend

What a weekend!! As everyone knows, I share my birthday with not one...but two nephews!! So, there really isn't much time to celebrate my birthday...but between all the festivities, I was able to take a (horrible) birthday picture with my boys and Michael got me & the boys season passes to Hawaiian Falls!! Woo hoo!!!

Friday night, we decided to celebrate Lincoln's birthday going out to eat...so we headed over to Magic Time Machine in Addison...

...where we ran into Uncle Jared!! (seriously one of my new favorite pics!)

I can't believe I didn't get a picture of our waiter, Sir Captain Jack Sparrow, but here is the look on the boys faces when they met him the first time...

Peek a boo!!!

The boys didn't know what to think of their fizzy and bubbling drinks...which tasted a lot like trashcan punch...minus the alcohol.

Where's Waldo? himself...

Lincoln got his birthday present from the boys. Last time he came over, all the commented on, on the car ride to our house, was "TRACTOR!!" "TRUCK!"...so we got him a little construction playset with some tractors and trucks. He was excited, which always makes me happy! I really stress about birthday presents.

Gagey watching the "magic" guy...who looked identical to Tim McGraw.

Lincoln don't know what to make of his birthday cookie pile with ice cream on top. "Capt. Jack Sparrow", "Waldo" and "The Punisher" all sang to us. (yep...me too, but I hid behind the camera)

Birthday Buddies! I'm making these pictures an annual event. They are never very good, but I will treasure them! I bet we'll look older every year, but the look on Lincoln's face will probably get worse and worse. :)

Precious boys.

LOVE IT.

Gammy with two of the three boys. Corbin and Lincoln had a ball walking on that wall.

Sweet Gagey wanted nothing to do with pictures at this point, but this one is still super cute!
We headed out to Waco today to celebrate Dakota's 8th Birthday...but of course, I didn't bring my camera. I LOVE my camera, but sometimes it's too much to worry about! The boys had a blast bowling and Corbin even got a strike!! Fun times were had, and I promise to snap some pics next time!!
Another birthday come and gone...until next time!

Tiny Angel

Tiny Angel rest your wings
sit with me for awhile.
How I long to hold your hand,
And see your tender smile.
Tiny Angel, look at me,
I want this image clear...
That I will forget your precious face
Is my biggest fear.
Tiny Angel can you tell me,
Why you have gone away?
You weren't here for very long...
Why is it, you couldn't stay?
Tiny Angel shook his head,
"These things I do not know...
But I do know that you love me,
And that I love you so".

Mommy's Science Field Trip!!

The science class I'm in this semester is called Science in the Classroom. Our teacher scheduled for us to go on a field trip with a group of 5th graders. She also said that anyone with kiddos could bring them...so I did! The boys were super excited to go on a field trip to the Trinity River Audubon!

All the 5th graders (and college student kids) got these little science journals to fill out during all the activities.

They learned about all the creatures in the pond and river and was given a chance to identify some in some pond water.

Corbin and the little girl of a classmate of mine automatically dug in to touch all the creepy crawlers. Gage?...not so much. He just watched.

Of course, there was a sediment and erosion lesson, so here Gage is trying to figure out what the heck this big bathtub full of sand was doing in the middle of the building.

Next was an hour long hike...the most boring hour long hike EVER!! The dude from the place kept making everyone be super quiet and enjoy and think about their surroundings. Above is Gage being quiet and still and enjoying the surroundings!

Corbin found a ladybug!!

Our kids were much more eager to go on the hike than the 5th graders we were with. Me and my classmate were following all the 5th graders and they were literally dragging their feet. (don't blame them...it was flippin boring.) Science is suppose to be fun for kids. They made it so serious. No wonder kids don't like it at that age. (sorry...had to vent)

This time they found a caterpillar or centipede of some sort...although it was slow, they had a heck of time trying to pick it up without pinching it...

of course they were unsuccessful and it fell.

At the end, I told the boys that they could get something from the gift shop if they were good on the hike! Both Gage and Corbin picked something out of the 50 cents bin! (woo hoo!!) Gage wanted his open immediately. I tried to tell him if he dropped his sticky lizard, it wouldn't work anymore...but he insisted that he wouldn't.

literally 2 minutes later.
fyi...I wouldn't suggest this place to anyone with kids under the age of 7....and if you do go...steer clear of the dude working there with the glasses! I think the boys would have had more fun if it was just us and I was letting them run around and look at everything. The classes were lectures more than doing things and was too much for little kids. (over their heads)

Uh-oh...I see trouble in my future...

Gage: "Mommy...I had a friend today"
Me: "yeah?"
Gage: "yep...a GIIIRLL-Friend"
Me: "a girlfriend? What is her name?"
Gage: "kailey"
Me: "kailey?"
Gage: "yeah...and you know what?"
Me: "What?"
Gage: "she had a dress on...and I kissed her and danced with her"
Me: "OOOOh...you don't kiss any girls but your mommy!"
Gage: "yes I do!! I like girls!!"

He told me this same conversation about 5 times today. Lil man has had "kailey" on the brain all day long!! I'm worried about two things:
1. that Gage acts more like his daddy everyday and my hands are going to be completely full when the time comes....far far in the future.
2. where the heck are Gagey's teachers when he's "sittin in a tree K-I-S-S-I-N-G" with the little girls?

Happy Easter Ya'll!!

Easter festivities officially began on Saturday night! The boys finally got to color their Easter eggs. Man...I don't know about the other mommies out there, but this is an EXTREMELY tense experience for this mommy! It's egg dye people! I am slightly OCD and when the egg dye comes out and it's splashing everywhere as the boys literally throw the eggs into the cups....geez, just thinking about it makes me want to drink. Anyway, the egg decorating pics suck because I make them strip to their underwear and I didnt want to embarrass them. :)

Yep...I gave Gage an egg dipper thingy and a spoon and he still used his hands. (picture me hyperventilating)

"LOOK AT MY HANDS CORBIN!!"

Gagey picked monster EASTER eggs...and Corbin picked Glitter Easter eggs.

They look like they are growing fungus...but that's just monster hair!! :)

The boys woke up this morning to this!!! Yep...that crazy bunny got them roller skates! Gage put them on and wiped before moving an inch...Corbin moved an inch and ran over my toes. We'll get the skates back out in about 6-9 months.

We headed to church with the Nicholson-Moody crew this morning. Look at my spiffy, handsome, super cute lil men!

After church, we had lunch at Seth's house! The boys had a blast!

...they even had an egg hunt in the backyard! (fyi...mommy didn't bring the boys Easter basket so Aunt Sarah provided them with pink bags...pink, Victoria Secret bags) ha!

Corbin, of course, came out with the most loot.

I asked Sethie if he wanted me to take his picture...he said yes...after I came out of shock, I snapped this quick pic!

Corbin and Gage had a great time pushing Seth in the swing.

After Sarah's, the Corpian crew came over for a bbq at our house! Gage is giving Lincoln a lecture about how he needs to be careful around the dog crates because he could get stuck inside.

Lincoln Skywalker.

To end the day, I had Corbin take Lincoln for a ride on the gator! Always a big hit with my boys and Lincoln!!

"CHEESE!"

We had an awesome day!!! Happy Easter everyone!! Now it's time to go study for a horrible math test and pass out. Why are holidays so flippin tiring?
